Click hinge tooth count. This part was originally an alias to the nine tooth version instead of, correctly, having 7 teeth.

Since there is no difference in function, only in design, I would say no, obsoleting is overkill.
It will still be locked in the same position even if 1 finger is missing.
I would accept a changed version.
There is also a change of the bucket, between the teeth, but again, no change in function.

But there has been a change in geometry which makes me want to go the obsolete route. Is there a past or current precedence for this kind of change?
Digged (ha ha) a little deeper. The difference is bigger than I saw at first look. Should be obsoleted.
