I believe that the control points for many of the type 5 lines are incorrect. I could be wrong about this (which is why this is a no-vote instead of a hold). It could be that the saddle shape of the brim causes the conditionals to appear when they shouldn't, and there is no real solution. However, I don't think that this is the case. Looking primarily from the font or back, and then rotating the near brim up and down, you can see type 5 lines appearing on both the top and bottom of the sides of the brim at times when they shouldn't.

I've tried to get rid of most of the condlines showing up too soon. I couldn't find any that was wrong.
The cost is a lot more, and long triangles. Better, or should I go back?

The new geometry decreases the length of the extra conditionals. I consider this an improvement. For reference, I took snapshots illustrating what I was talking about with both the old and new geometry:
