The orientation is opposite to the one proposed in www.digital-bricks.de because the -Z direction is the one considered as anterior for the models.
In this way the part is already ready for insertion without having to make a 180 degrees rotation each time around Y.

Missing a Category, but I don't know where to sort it.
IMHO, Minifig Accessory or Technic, but it's too big to place in a minifig hand and it has never
been used in a Technic set, unless we count Bionicle. Maybe Technic Bionicle Weapon is best.

According to Brickset it was released in 2015 in multiple themes at the same time, including Neo-Bionicle. So I don't think that it should be connected to any particular theme.

Perhaps this should go to Figure Accessory?

I do not know whether this will help anyone decide how to categorize this part, but it was officially released in the main group "Functional Elements" (TECHNIC platform).

The name it has currently happens to match the official naming as well (which is unusual for LDRAW) :)

I do not really understand the title "Six Shooter". (I am a non-English native speaker.)
When searching this part, I never would come to the idea to use that term to find it.
Why not use "Barrel" or "Gun Barrel"?
