The front should be colour 79

Yes, for these parts in real life, Back 2383 is always white 15 and Front 2384p* is always milky white 79.
I'm wondering which shortcut is the most useful for model building:
1) White 2383 + Milky white 2384p* (violating no-physical-colour-rule?)
2) Changeable colour 2383 + Milky white 2384p*
3) White 2383 + Changeable colour 2384p*

If I am not mistaken, there is a connection between the partnumber used on the shortcut, and then which part has to be uncoloured.
Here you use 2384, then the sign front is uncoloured. I think that's how it has to be.

But I miss the word "Sign" in the second part of the description.
"Electric Light & Sound Sign Front with Men Working Pattern with White Sign Back"

Why isn't this a brick? It has studs on the top surface?
"Electric Light & Sound Brick 1 x 2 x 2.667 with Men Working Pattern" ?

Bricklink use "Cabinet"

And we also have 905c01, "Electric Light & Sound Computer Console (Complete)". Different design, but in the same family of parts.

"Electric Light & Sound Brick 1 x 2 x 1.667 with Milky White Front with ... Pattern"
And then partnumber 2383c01p01-p08 ?
And 2383c01 as a uncoloured shortcut ?

* As others have concerns I'm gonna hold it. Also from my perspectiv the main part is a:

"Electric Light & Sound Brick 1 x 2 x 1.667 with Milky White Clip-On Plate with ... Pattern"

with all getting renumbered to 2383c01p01-p08, coloring the clip-on plate and making the brick color 16
