16 sided would be enough in my eyes.
Nonetheless I would like to see an ering for the outside.

Update ring primitives via script. This will not reset the vote status of the part.

Agree with Max, please add an ering to the top.
Else this should be fine.

center should be standard res...
like here: https://library.ldraw.org/parts/24970
should then also use ndis/tndis/tang at the inside, outside could use 1-8chrd
pattern could get cut in half and subfiled...
to reduce triangles, maybe use standard res prims at the bottom and a aring at the outside

Instead of the hi-res ring prims use this at the back (and fill with quads/triangles:
1 1 0 0 0 10 0 0 0 -0.25 0 0 0 10 4-4ndis.dat
1 1 0 0 0 27.5 0 0 0 -1 0 0 0 27.5 48\1-4chrd.dat
1 1 0 0 0 27.5 0 0 0 -1 0 0 0 -27.5 48\1-4chrd.dat
1 1 0 0 0 -27.5 0 0 0 -1 0 0 0 27.5 48\1-4chrd.dat
1 1 0 0 0 -27.5 0 0 0 -1 0 0 0 -27.5 48\1-4chrd.dat

at the top, sue this as padding

1 1 0 -.25 0 27.5 0 0 0 -1 0 0 0 27.5 48\1-8chrd.dat
1 1 0 -.25 0 0 0 27.5 0 -1 0 27.5 0 0 48\1-8chrd.dat
1 1 0 -.25 0 10 0 0 0 -0.25 0 0 0 10 4-4ndis.dat

this will make prim subst smooth

The large diameter should remain a 48 prim, it is large enough
