I think for analogy with the 4.5 and 12V train tracks,
this should be renumbered from c00 to c01.

an alternative could be to simply renumber this file to 74747.dat.

I think that having the quite artificial 2867c00 number is just clutter.

Yes this could be 2867c01 and bump up the other four.

I'm sorry to come up with this this late, but I just discovered
that this file has a different vertical origin than the
currently official 4.5V and 12V files.
(Both the origin choice there and here of course make sense in their way.)
However, I would like to achieve that this file, and its 4.5V and 12V
counterparts can be freely interchanged, without having to each time
correct the vertical positioning.
We have a chance here to do that now, because this file can have
that origin, and the MOVED-TO pointing here can compensate for that
to achieve downwards-compatibility.

I think we should apply that change. Do you as well? Chris?

(that vertical origin change of course should also be applied to the left and right point parts.)

unfortunatley, my vertical origin change suggested above is impossible.
I suggested it to make the 9v train track have the same origins
everywhere as the 12v and 4.5v tracks.
This would allow, e.g. in train track layout software, to simply
swap between these.
this would be possible now, I thought, because currently all 9v
parts are on the PT, and an origin change is possible for all of them.

BUT 1 part is not: the crossing 32087.dat

I am pondering this through an through currently,
and sometimes I think we should 32087.dat MOVE-TO 32087a.dat
and give it the vertical origin change there.
Would we do that, then we could adjust also the other 9v train
parts currently on the PT, and finally would achieve
that train track layout software could freely interchange
4.5v, 12v and 9v train track parts without taking care
of each time compensating the different vertical origin.

I agree with what steffen is suggesting that we should keep similar parts consistent with one another.
However, I disagree with steffen and the desire to shift the 9v track system to do this.
The 9v track system has the origin logically placed on the top of the plate as all other parts.
Whereas the 12v and 4.5v have track systems have their origin at the top of the rail which feels wrong to me.

the origin at the 4.5V and 12V rail assemblies is at the rail top
because the origin from the rail parts existing first has been
carried over to the rail assemblies.

in the meantime, with the 2013-02 update 2 other rail systems
have been released with their origin at plate level,
so the discussion here is obsolete now.

I retract my suggestion and am fine with origin at plate level.

Not needed, present in metal subfile:
2 5 -153.673 -16 -65.874 -149.75 -8.5 -65.095
2 5 -140.432 -8.5 -63.241 -136.509 -16 -62.46

Still think it should be split into plastic and metal parts.
The loose edge lines on top of the metal rails, added in this file, will get the same colour as the plastic part,
when this part is used coloured grey, or any other colour chosen of a model builder.

Ok, the design issues are now gone. Only structural issues remain.
Please split this into its separate parts. And each part should have its own set of complete edge lines.
