76100 is about to become 76100-f1
to be become analogous to 76100-f2

question now is: is this c01 an assembly of -f1 or -f2?

depending on that, it needs to become

76100-f1c01
or
76100c01-f1

resp.

76100-f2c01
or
76100c01-f2

I think that 76100c01 makes sense. That the cannon comes in two forms is a detail that shouldn't get reflected in the name of the assembly. This is an "unnumbered assembly" in one form only. if this assembly came in other forms, -f1 and -f2 prefixes would make sense.

The -f1, -f2, etc suffices are not used to differentiate between shortcuts composed of different parts, that's the role of c01, c02, etc.
The -f1, -f2 suffices are used to represent different arrangements of the part(s) - such as an open/closed container or a compressed/relaxed spring. These suffices may be applied to a part number or a shortcut.
I think that there are some renames to be done here, but let me take a look at the email that Santeri has sent, before commenting further here.

The file re-organistion for the earlier (round bottom) competition cannon has now been done, so that we have:
76100-f1 - cannon assembly with relaxed spring
76100-f2 - cannon assembly with compressed spring
76100c01 - cannon+arrow assembly (compressed spring)

I question the need for 32074c02 (cannon assembly without trigger). If the rationale is to allow users to easily create a version with the trigger pulled back, then I think it would be better to do that as a complete assembly as 76100-f3.

So that we don't lose the information from 'dulcaoin', the newer version comprises 57029 (body) + 57759 (lid) + 61280 (trigger) + 71830 (spring).

In 57796-f1.dat I moved the trigger back to contrast against the contracted version 57796-f2.dat. I would suggest the same here but the assembly has already been official.

A one-to-one match is needed for LDD to LDraw conversion and LDD has only two parts: the cannon (32074c02) and the trigger (32075).

Granted, LDD only has 57029 variant so it should actually be 57029c01 and 61280, but I guess the question will also arise for the newer variant and why treat the two variants differently?
