I think usage of tang here is a waste of triangles, they bring nothing but remove harmless same-color overlap with primitive substitution.

the rear side (with the spokes) is also conical rimwards
and the "npegholes" around the pinhole are much deeper

there is some kind of "ring" around the pinholes, from there it is going conical outwards
