I'm ready to do the update but I'd like to understand why it's so important to do what you mentioned? I couldn't find anything in the LDraw documentation about this.

Maybe you could read the section about how to proper position the sticker too?
This one, and many of the other you have uploaded, has a clear up-direction.
The small images om Bricklink is not good enough to be used as texmap images.
