I case you wonder why I haven't used the old 6228 nomenclature: 6228 according to Digital Bricks is the Dolphin 9M. Also Rebrickable list a, b, and c variants of 6228 as dolphin. No site Re, BL o BO have a part number for the 12V motor with/without center pin hole.

doesnt the modern 12V motor also have the axle with steel tip like the modern 4V motor?
