Not yet entirely sure about the edges along the 'spine'. On the real part they seem to be there, but it looks weird with visible edge lines.

Reduce the attachment pice thickness to the standard 3 LDU please, it is currently 3. something, that does not go well with the editors

I would sugget to have a s01 file fo the entire shell only without the belt, Is there only a verison with a brown belt? no others?

*changed sub-file structure
*neck attachment thickness adjusted to exactly 3 LDU (was 3.163)
*moved origin down 0.163 to match with new attachment thickness

@Gerald:
This piece only exists with the dark brown belt printing.
There is however a very similar part (12610) which has an additional diagonal belt (maybe you had this in mind?). I already considered reusing some sub-files from this for 12610, but upon closer inspection, there are a few very subtle changes to the sculpt which make this difficult.
Aside from the diagonal belt causing a lack of symmetry, the height and thickness of the horizontal belt seem to differ and the outer scutes of the shell are aranged a bit differently.

Comment:
Seems like a good idea to have this rotated (to not get confused with the other ones).

If they all need a preview rotation maybe there is something wrong with the orientation?
OTOH, all Minifig Neckwear should have the same orientation.

That was the problem here. Since it's minifig neckgear having it rotated by default would not be in line woth other parts.

I'm not insisting on the rotated view, but differentiating 12609 and 12610 might get problematic without.
