On bricklink, this part is named x351, but when I uploaded a file called x351 the other day, the model was rejected. Not sure how to make sure that this part also shows up as that number.

Missing all condlines, that need to be added between the halves.
The top surface is hiding the edge around the stud base. The top surface, in the subfile, need to be at y=24. Now it's at 24.072
Is it correct that the backside in concave?

How do you add condlines I tried to click between two vertices but there's no key that confirms the condlines. Escape only cancels.

Attempted to fix some things like:
- Rounding the vertices (turned out to be a wrong export setting causing that)
- Merging a certain vertex at the bottom.
- Auto-adding some condlines and lines in the main part file.
- Replacing the hole at the bottom side with a cylinder and a disc.

Added a 4-4ndis on the bottom cylinder.
Added two lines to the back of the seat
Merged some vertices near the "feet"

I'm not sure how to add faces in LDPE. If it goes as well as manually adding (cond)lines (in other words, not possible for some reason) then I'm not sure if that would work out.

The two 4-4ndis are inverted.
I recomend to delete the 4-4edge and studa and change the cyli to: 1 16 0 -32 0 6 0 0 0 8 0 0 0 6 4-4cylc.dat

In LDPE, press F5 (this select the primitive/subfile selector); then click on the ndis and finaly press J on the keyboard. This also works with the common surfaces.

there is a BFC mode (also availiable here in the PT Preview) which turns the "backside" of faces red, then you can find it easier

In LDPE, you can see a column with cubes at the left (first one).
If you go to the bottom of that column (and from bottom to top), you find a button with a yellow cube and a red face. Choose that.

IMO this is wrong and the design with a cyli + a studa is the correct way to design a long stud.
A stud primitive should be used, and it is wrong to scale it in y.

Added seat side bend, tried to fix the gap between the wrist and the foot, and other small tweaks

also in this image looks like the bottom of the steering shaft could use a 1-4cyls prim

Tried to make it more accurate, added two 1-4cyls primitives to the bottom of the steering shaft, made the outer parts more slope-y and replaced all the cond/edgelines generated by ExportLDraw (the blender plugin I use) with cond/edgelines by Edger2.

Joined some quads and moved them to the main file (making part of the model not symmetrical for optimization purposes), also fixed the feet to the coordinates Rene mentioned in the forum thread. Uploaded from my phone btw, hope that doesn't mess something up.

Based on the reference photos I decided on aligning each of the four outer sides as well as I could to a 86,65 degrees slope (90 degrees or upright minus 3,35 degrees). I also applied the steering shaft suggestion of Javier Orquera in a way I thought looked good

How do we describe this thing?
I suggest, an can do the change: "Minifig Torso Brick 2 x 2 Driver".

Minifig Brick 2 x 2 with Steering Wheel is how i would title it

If it's not in the title, I would suggest putting "Racers" at least in the keywords.

I managed to get the missing condlines around the steering shaft to show up and fixed some vertices not aligning with the other vertices. Even though everything should align now, the vertices are not merged automatically somehow, so if the model needs adjusting later, I must remember to merge the vertices around the 8\2-4cyli.dat.
I also renamed the part's description to "Minifig Brick 2 x 2 with Steering Wheel" (I remembered reading that the numbers in 2 x 2 need a space in front of them if they're less than 2 digits each)
I added Racers to the keywords, but also driver as it's part of the bricklink part's description and people might be searching for that. Feel free to correct me on that.

I found a tool in ldpe called the Unificator that apparently can merge unmatched vertices that are close to each other. It seemed to have done something. Let me know if it was enough or if I need to increase the merge margin

I do know that in Bricklink Studio, there's a problem with the software where the high res primitives are loaded instead of the low res primitives....

Personally I think releasing them into regular faces (if I understand the term correctly) would be a good idea to avoid cases like that. Shouldn't be too hard to do for me either.

Released the low-res primitives into regular faces (put them into the subpart as they were symmetrical anyway). I've made a back-up in case there is a change of mind, but I think it's a good idea because Bricklink Studio automatically replaces the low-res primitives with high-res ones.

Replaced the lines on the inside with condlines and added a bit of space between the outside and inside near the back. Also fixed the wrist a little.
