hm, rotating/squishing partial cyl prims is normally a bad idea...
would it work better by using unrotated (but still squished) 3-16 cylo prims instead of the rotated 3-8 prims?

could use something like that:
1 16 0 -36 0 0 0 6 0 4 0 6 0 0 1-16cyli.dat
1 16 0 -36 0 0 0 6 0 4 0 -6 0 0 1-16cyli.dat
1 16 0 -32 0 6 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 6 3-16chrde.dat
1 16 0 -32 0 6 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 -6 3-16chrde.dat
1 16 0 -36 0 6 0 0 0 -1 0 0 0 6 3-16chrde.dat
1 16 0 -36 0 6 0 0 0 -1 0 0 0 -6 3-16chrde.dat
1 16 1.1481 -36 0 3 0 0 0 4 0 0 0 6 3-16cylo.dat
1 16 1.1481 -36 0 3 0 0 0 4 0 0 0 -6 3-16cylo.dat
(needs filling triangles and condlines)
also could be subfiled
-> this solution has no vertex mismatches/gaps from rotated cylos

You should really use non-rotated prims e.g.

1 1 0 -52 0 0 0 6 0 -4 0 6 0 0 1-16cyli.dat
1 1 .9567 -52 0 3.5 0 0 0 -4 0 0 0 6 3-16cyli.dat

to save code, you could make it half or a quarter

Please excuse the original author. I didn't change his design. It was an official part and approved not too long ago.
I have now remodeled the grooves and subfiled as requested. There may be future use cases where the grooves or the handle might be reused.

oh yes, there's always the chance that new ideas pop up when parts are remodeled and put on the tracker again :-)

It is a good idea to suppart it this way in order to cater for parts tat use this handle design as well.

This handle with bottom stud can be reused in hand sign 41759 and seaweed 43852.
