Does this really exist as hollow stud version?

It only ever came in 1 set: 6422, which was a limited release as far as I can tell (mine did come with solid studs).

Note that the transparent version of this part is technically a different mold (since it's PC not ABS), and said mold was updated later than the solid color version.

Reason for hold:
Either this part does not exist in this version or the pattern should be sub-filed for re-use in the solid stud version (which is proven to exist, see RB and BO links).

as of now, I just reworked the old part...
pattern itself is ok?
should this be a moved to? (to the correct studded part)
which part number should that one have? 4864ap15.dat (like BL/peeron)?

maybe 4864ap71
maybe instead obsoleting this it gets turned into 4864bpr0002 or 4864bpr0016

Pattern seems ok (a bit dated/low-res though).

I don't think it matters much which part number the solid stud version gets (as long as it's 4864ap something).

It's good to keep the same pattern number, so 4864ap71
Someone might have placed some bar-sized thing in the hollow studs, so the correct way must be to obsolete the old.
Or is it? Does a change from hollow to solid studs count as a change of geometry?

Obsolete sounds right to me.
As you said, someone might have put something in the studs.

Not sure, if it makes a difference in this case if it's changed geometry or not - there are going to be two different parts anyways.
