Asides the studs, there are also changes to the front of lion's mane made. And the front hollow studs seem different. Do the added reinforcements need to be modelled?

yes, should be a numbered variant instead of an alias -> subfile everything but the upper two studs and add solid studs here and hollow ones in the original.
