please use any round prims for the rim, the subfile has a cyli+edge...
either aring, chrd or what fits.
guess the pattern isnt complex enough to make a half subfile.

Instead of those:
1 13 0 0 0 42.42641 0 -42.42641 0 1 0 42.42641 0 42.42641 1-8chrd.dat
1 13 0 0 0 -42.42641 0 -42.42641 0 1 0 42.42641 0 -42.42641 1-8chrd.dat
1 13 0 0 0 -42.42641 0 42.42641 0 1 0 -42.42641 0 -42.42641 1-8chrd.dat
1 13 0 0 0 42.42641 0 42.42641 0 1 0 -42.42641 0 42.42641 1-8chrd.dat

use unrotated prims
1 14 0 0 0 60 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 -60 1-8chrd.dat
1 14 0 0 0 0 0 -60 0 1 0 -60 0 0 1-8chrd.dat
1 14 0 0 0 -60 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 60 1-8chrd.dat
1 14 0 0 0 0 0 60 0 1 0 60 0 0 1-8chrd.dat

THis will avoid those 59.999 vertices
3 16 0 0 59.999 23 0 40 42.426 0 42.426

you can then use either unificator to match those to the 60 or correct them by hand, i..e merge vertices

why do you even use both aring and chrd, one of them is enough...
its mainly for prim subst, and both meet that.
(just use either aring OR 48\1-8chrd.dat)

I would tend to the aring and replace the chrds with triangles, then merge them to the neighboring ones...
Maybe split some quads to merge them better.

@rene, the aring is not subject to prim substitution, therefore the use of the 48/1-8chrds is ok, those are being substituted to the higher resolutions

I am putting the hold now becaus of my previous comment
