I think that the top faces cold be only:

would be a bit more vertices from the middle row where the both rings meet
could be slightly improved by rotating the chrds by 45° to match the 15535s02.dat outside and delete the ones at the stud cutouts (no prims there)

But wouldn't that basically make all other prints of this part incorrect that simply use 4-4ering.dat at the edge?
The chrds are there to match these.
I dislike using ring prims for these types of prints - causing to many other issues like tiny gaps.
