yes, sticker over pinhole is uncommon
(but as long its only internal overhang and no axle/pin has to go through it should be fine)

Regarding the "adhesive surface is not completely covered":

There's a molding pip gap right where the sticker goes over. That pretty much would count the same (looks rather weird up close). There are probably other examples out there too.
