Adding a tiny thin cylinder segment over where the gap appears is a workaround that seems to work since it plugs the gap and obviously that gets substituted when all the other cylinder sections do in high res, but then there is a co-planar vert warning then if I upload it. I could just live with the gap I guess instead or not use cylinder segments for those particular areas but that isn't ideal either.
