should the rear side get extended to the rear ring?
(to prevent gaps on hi-res, maybe replace the rear ring prim with an 1-8chrd and connect it with polygons?)

Extended rear side of subfile to the rear ring to avoid gaps with high res primitives.

now you accidentally merged a vertex at the front which now overlaps with the axlehole tooth in the main file

I would suggest to create this new one as default, rename 32198.dat to 32198a.dat and create an alias of 32198.dat pointing to the new one.
