This is now a strange mix of only trinagles in the sphere primitive, and some quads in the bottom section.
I think this part was made prior to the recreation of the sphere.

Maybe the bottom should be recreated using the new sphere prim?

Why is this one reduced to 12.75 when every other Technic ball joint is 12.81 ldu?

History says

I measured my balls (pun intended) and depending on the place where I measure diameter I find values down to 10.05mm (12.56 ldu radius), up to 10.25mm (12.81 ldu radius). So 12.75 ldu is a perfectly valid value, probably better centered than 12.81. At least for this ball!
