are there two variants or do all have these holes?
should it get reworked more (while it is unofficial)?

Do the variants have notable functional differences? If not that they don't need to modeled.

As far as I could tell there only exists the version with holes.

I have tested a few of mine (ca. 1991-2010) and the holes seem to be able to accept a helmet feather and similar parts, though older ones seem to be a tighter fit.

This new file should work with all possible models that use the current official file, since I only removed 'material'.

should the bottom "ridge" also get more "cubic" like the 6134? this one has some kind of rounded bottom, 6134 has a square bottom...

Yes, I think real ones are more flat at the bottom. Also the LDD one seems to break the curvature here. Rework coming soon.

*subfiled to reuse the connector sides
*removed the curved middle section in 3938
*middle area completely reworked to remove T-junctions

There is still T-junc to the main plate. Should this be reworked as well, or keep the box prim to reduce poly count?
