I got two problems with this part... First, where does 20398 comes from? This reference doesn't appear on Brickset. Perhaps it is the ref. of the undecorated white assembly?
Then, LDD lists this part as 20179 "KITCHEN EQUIPMENT NO.1,BOTTOM". Since LEGO calls 20179 "bottom" means that this is actually an assembly of two parts, not some overmolding.
So I think we should
- make a 20179 part from your 20398s01 + front face
- Make top (20398s01) a uxxx part
- make 20398c01 a shortcut (20179 + trans clear uxxx) named 20179c01

20398 come from BL
20179 from LDD
and in the LEGO replacement shop 20495 for the Simpsons Version...

20398 is the designID at LEGO Replacement parts (and Brickset) for a white cup with trans lid.
ElementID = 6189348

20495 is the designID at Brickset for a lime green cup (with print "SQUISHEE")
ElementID = 6106422
21791 is the DesignID at Brickset for a dark purple cup (with the same print)
ElementID = 6120760

No known number for the pink cup

Indeed, 20398 is listed at LEGO Replacement parts, but I couldn't find it (neither 6189348 item) on Brickset. Why???
This doesn't change much my suggestion above, except to add 20398 as alias of 20179c01

Yes, you're right. 20398 is not at Brickset. My bad.

I think I know why: Brickset imports parts through sets inventories, but 20398 belongs to a collectible minifig that has no inventory at LEGO replacement parts.

If so, then it's the same reason for no number on the pink cup.
It's only present in CMF Ninjago Movie, 71019-11

This part has some really crazy numbering, there are a total of four versions of the part (I've got three of them):

- ALL of them have the Mould imprint 20398

- In LDD the number is 20179

- PLAIN WHITE: (LEGO: KITCHEN EQUIPMENT NO. 1)
BL: 20398c01
Element ID: 6189348 (BL/LEGO)
BS: not available
LEGO Design ID: 20398

- LIME w. SQUISHEEE: (BS: Kitchen Equipment No. 1 "No.1")
BL: 20398c01pb01
Element ID: 6106422
BS: 20495
LEGO Design ID: not in the spares shop anymore

- DARK PURPLE w. SQUISHEEE: (BS: Kitchen Equipment No. 1 "No.2")
BL: 20398c01pb01
Element ID: 6120760
BS: 21791
LEGO Design ID: not in the spares shop anymore

- BRIGHT PINK w. BUBBLES: (LEGO: KITCHEN EQUIPMENT, NO. 6)
BL: 20398c01pb02
Element ID: 6197231
BS: not available
LEGO Design ID: 34707

Reading through this I would prefer the mould number:
- make the bottom (now 20398s01) with the front to 20398 (opposed to Philo's 20179)
- make the top lid (now 20398s02) to a uxxxx
- add the shortcut 20398c01 for the complete assembly (dual injection...?)
- add the squishee as 20398c01p??1
- add the pink patterned as 20398c01p??2

other thoughts?

Any thoughts on my suggestion for the numbering? Tehe common thing between all of them is the mold number...

should the lid and the cup become separate "~ part" files?
This file currently has filename ...c01,
but says type "part" (instead of "shortcut") in the header.

Push this up again, how shall we go on with the numbering of this and its printed cousins?

Since the lid is hollow this can't be a dual injection. It has to be an assy, hence c01 suffix and 2 separate parts.
I would choose the visible mould number, 20398.

Since the mold number is visible, I'm OK with suggestion 20398+uxxxx

I have to revert my opinion, after digging out my 2 parts. I have the white and pink parts, the number inside is 20398.
The lid is NOT hollow.
The current design, as subparts, are correct as a dual injection.

This should be renumbered as 20398p01, with TransClear lid, and a uncoloured 20398 should be made.

There are 2 printed versions.
BL 20398c01pb01, "Squishee" pattern with TransClear Lid
BL 20398c01pb02, Pink Bubbles pattern with TransClear Lid

All three are now at Brickset as;
20398, in white, in 71019 in CMF series 17
21791, in lime and purple, in 71016 Kwik-E-Mart
34707, in pink, in 71019 CMF Ninjago Movie

Do the cups from the Kwik-E-Mark have a different number embossed on the inside?

The print on the pink cup is interesting since it goes a full 360 degrees around the cup.
