Reinstating hold - I don't see the need for the two 'lights' on this shortcut. It's useful to have the bike-with-windscreen.

I agree. Our library needs to be as versatile as possible.
This shortcut only demonstrates the shield placement.
It is trivial for a user to add the 1x1 plates for the lights.

OK.
With or without Police pattern?

I would vote for "without" to minimalize/focus on the purpose of this file

Actually I was thinking that it might be useful to have the bike+windshield as a legitimate shortcut in its own right, rather than just as an example of positioning.

As such we would have two shortcuts - one with the plain windshield and one with the 'Police' windshield - in much the same way that we have the bike+red wheels and bike+clear wheels. (I think the 'Police' windshield may have appeared with both colours of wheel, in which case it would be three shortcuts.)

If the purpose of it, is to show how to correctly place the parts,
maybe we should remake c03 into a true template with lights, windshield and a driver?
All parts, non-coloured in one file. Not many builder want all their riders to have black/blue suits.

I agree that IMHO the glass without pattern should be moved to the current c03.
Then that file can serve as a placement helper assembly.
However I still think that there only the bike should be color16.

Updated hips and legs to the new parts, and adjusted the position of the minifig slightly to compensate. Still can't see how to solve the intersection between windshield and visor, though.

Looking at this again, I think the "c" legs might be the key here.
The reworked helmet and visor I'm working on makes the collision less intrusive, and a repositioning of the whole minifig might be possible.
I don't have the skills to reposition the fig. Is there anyone who wants to do it?

In addition to the 'c' legs, also needs to be updated to use 2446b or, preferably, a helmet/visor shortcut.

Not perfect, but much better. I think the collision is gone. The legs are now replaced and repositioned, and then the whole fig rotated "around the hands", if that makes sense.
This means that the hands don't really hold on to the handle bar correct.
If you think you can make it any better, go ahead.

looks like there are some other small collisions: Helmet/Body, Hips/Legs, Hips/Frame and Legs/Frame
