I think this is a duplicate of 499.dat
I think that LEGO did not have 2 separate variants of this part in the 1980's
I suggest to replace this by a MOVED-TO that file

My first suggestions would be adding the cylinder length to the title (X.Xmm Cylinder) and add keywords with BL ref to all magnet holders.

i can confirm 3 variants of the closed ring variant: (i am very much into this kind of trains, i have the parts)
-short cylinder, short magnet
-short cylinder, long magnet
-long cylinder, long magnet
if the plates 2x4 with magnet holders are built into a ring with 5 studs apart, only the first short/short version doesnt connect...
the other two variants connect into a good fitting pair

i guess we need 2 magnets for that...
D10xL6mm and D10xL7mm
the new ones should be the 10x7 like this one: 2959c01.dat

both -> no :(
but I checked the library:
70023.dat is D24xL16
u9044.dat is D26xL15
but they should be D25xL15 (D10xL6mm) and D25xL17,5 (D10x7mm)
there is a chance that both are wrong

the rear part should be subfiled, the front cup can get changed in a new variant
I also obsoleted the old magnet, should fit that one: u9044b.dat
